Get at least a 2 season.

Millets has one - a somethingorother 200 for £15. Has shoulder baffles, which is good. A 1 season cheapy is good only for the best of weather - which we dont have very much of in this country. Even in mid-summer you can get uncomfortably cold sleeping under canvas.

We are going to buy a pair of them this week after suffering a bit this weekend - and we had bedrolls, underblankets and a duvet and pillows in addition to our cheap old sleeping bags! Brrrr..!

I have recently bought a "ladies" style sleeping bag (a vango)  It was £30 but well worth it. The advantage above standard bags is that it is much shorter which means that you are not losing heat by having empty space.  I also bought my husband a fleece lining bag for £4.99 from Lidls which he said warmed up his season 1 bag fine.  It may not be snuggly enough for your daughter though.  The vango is a 3 season as I hate to be cold.

Its not just the bag! Its many layers that keep you warm, make sure she has a vest on with p j's on top, pack her a thermafleece hat and gloves, good insulated socks or even better two thin pairs on and she'll be fine. I once camped in Aviemore in January in a white out in an old cloth type sleeping bag, which I should of died in, but I went into with multi layers and most importantly had a good fleece hat on!  Keep her head warm, the rest is easy!

She'll will be havin so much fun with friends it probably wont matter.

3 season minimum, 4 season even better, you can always unzip it to cool off, but there`s nothing worse than being cold in bed

 I have a decent quality 3 seaon rated Vango Ultralite, and it states "comfort temp -1 degs C to +18 degs C, extreme temp -15 degs C". I used it last weekend and it wasn`t warm, only just comfortable enough. You don`t need to pay a fortune for a super-dooper down bag or anything, £40 will get you a decent bag.
