We were woken one morning at around 6am by the sound of the pump in the aqua roll running. Only way to turn it off was by turning off the pump at the main panel. Tried turning microswitch, no difference either way. Found small leak under bathroom taps, could this be what kept the pump running? I have taken the taps out and will look to replace them and maybe the pump as well. Would this be best thing to do?

Thanks

Steve

Changing taps is an expensive hobby. If you have a micro switch system you can just replace the faulty switch.
If you have a pressurised system and you can't adjust the pressure switch then maybe the pressure switch is faulty, I wouldn't have thought that the taps themselves were the problem, and if the pump was running then it is probably be ok.

If the system is a pressurised one then a small leak will keep your pump running. If it has individual microswitches on each tap then the small leak would not cause the problem. Replacing taps can be expensive I would be looking to see if I could make a repair to the leaking place before replacing them, especially if the system used microswitches as such a system only needs to be watertight when the tap is running.
