Has anyone else been to "Poundland" recently, I was gobsmacked to find they have started selling camping stuff, this is what I got at the weekend:

4 Roll up camping mats - they are identical to these in Argos and available in different colours:               www.tkqlhce.com/click-1428744-10294381?url=http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/3405712.htm

Camping Mess Tins, normal price in Argos is £5.99 for 2 of them but I purchased 6 and still paid the same price!http://www.tkqlhce.com/click-1428744-10294381?url=http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/0197793.htm

A pull-out washing line "with" 8 metal pegs (even if they only last a couple of times the washing line looks sturdy enough and after all i'll be on holiday so washing is completely out of the question)

A decent size washing up bowl + a large roll of Poundlands "J Cloths"

4 LED Torches (really bright too and they come complete with batteries)

A fold up water carrier

An orienteering compass, again looks the same as the one in Argos http://www.tkqlhce.com/click-1428744-10294381?url=http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/0190381.htm

A multi-purpose camping tool:  pen knife/bottle opener/corkscrew etc...

Honestly I came out with 4 carrier bags full of stuff and hardly spent any money.  Come on all you campers and caravanners - splash the cash in Poundland and you'll get lots of stuff for very little money.

p.s. they have also started to sell fishing rods/reels/etc....and other camping stuff I haven't mentioned......it's worth a look.

Happy Camping to you all

I love poundland. Some stuff is naff, but at a quid even if it last one season I dont mind.

Always go in there when I'm in town.

One point, things sell so quickly that if you see something, get it straight away. It might not be there the following week, or even following day.

Went to my local store yesterday, point to note on the compasses - they all point different directions - except north!!!!
