Can any one help ?
We've had our cadac a couple of years now and i've just brought the BBQ domed lid.
Had great ideas of cooking roasts
I've just unpacked it
Question is it looks completely different to the box and web site.
It has the vents on the top of the lid, and not round the sides, and doesn't look as tall as the pictured one.
any one out there got a domed lid, and could they tell me the height and are they good for cooking ?
Do you think I've been sent a older version may be old stock, and should i ask for a replacement ?
Any help ?

Hi, I have a domed lid that came with my cadac combo which I bought in march 2004 - my lid is completely domed, no vents, just a couple of holes in the top where the handle is attached plus one more hole which the 'thermometer' sits - I find it invaluable for cooking - haven't ever tried roasting any meat (think would take too long & use up all gas) but have used it for heating pies/pasties, ready made yorkshire puds etc, it gets pretty hot upto about 170'C which is good for re-heating but not sure about cooking anything through from raw/fresh- my son has food allergies so it has been good for re-freshing his bread.  Couldn't say which one you have been sent but the cadac systems have changed a few times since I got mine - the approximate dimensions of the lid are 47.5cm diameter and 15cm tall.

Hope this helps.

Ours has the vents on the sides. I've yet to try cooking any meat with the lid on yet but I have successfully cooked jacket potatoes with it, if anything it was too hot for the spuds.

I'm planning on having a BBQ at home soon and I want to try roasting a chicken with the Cadac as I'm not keen on trying it at a camp site.

When cooking / heating with the lid on, what base do you use?

We had a lid with our old Cadac but never used it, since we found it just too big to pack. Now are getting a new one, and the lids look a bit smaller, so any tips would be appreciated.

Hello ukbull - yes it is gluten free bread - the part baked type which needs refreshing, takes about 8-10 minutes for my sons bread rolls, but I always wrap it in foil first to help keep it moist.  Bit of trial & error really dependant on make of bread - they are all terrible if you ask me, just hoping my sons outgrows his allergies and can have the pleasure of real bread!  Have also managed to heat my sons rolls, again wrapped in foil on the campingaz stove - by placing it on the top of the stove over the grill vents and lighting the grill - just keep turning it over until it heats through and softens.  Hope this helps you and have a great time!!
