Well i wouldn't be without mine!

Its a mixed bag really as sometimes i hanker after a cobb too for doing a roast or smoking stuff, but i do mainly wok cooking so the cadac is more practical. Oh the BBQ part of it is awful to clean, but the cadac cleaner does a grat job- even if i'm pretty convinced the aerosol version is oven cleaner!

Do a search and you'll see this topic can get quite 'heated' !!!

I have a cadac, very handy multi purpose bit of kit.

I'm sure the cobb is a great bit of kit but how can you compare them as they do diffrent jobs!  Would you really boil a kettle or knock up brekkie on a cobb?  Can you heat or bake a pie or roast in a cadac? ( even with oven top) would you want to?

It comes down to what you need from it, as they are both worthy additions to anyones kit.

Love my Cadac
We use the large paella pan the most, great for fry ups you can get loads in, especially if your cooking for a big party of people
I've just brought the domed lid for mine and made my 1st pizza out doors
made up my own pizza dough, placed dough base on the griddle pan and added tom, cheese, ham and pineapple, covered with the lid and cooked about 15mins it was yummy
it gets quiet hot inside with the lid on

I would highly recommend the cadac - got mine around 4 years ago and it has been worth every penny - managed a full english for 13 as well as some really great meals.  It is a high quality versatile piece of kit and great for camping trips as you can pack it down into it's carry bag, I also use it in the garden - I wouldn't be without mine!

If you take any notice of that even bigger fool  Reedrider  and buy a Cadac you will live to regret it,they are not all they are cracked up to be. They are heavy, don't stay alight in a very slight breeze, a job to clean. I have just given mine away or you could have had that one. They are not worth the money and you will regret getting one. If I was you I would go for something else.

Hear hear - it all comes down to what sort of stuff you want to cook. And how much of a hurry you're in. I like to take it slow on a campsite so am happy with my Cobb, but it's not so good for traditional bbq grilling. The Cadac would be better for that.

Have a Cobb and Large Campingaz Party Grill Combo which is similar I think to a Cadac.

Love them both......... The Party Grill for frying up breaky in a morning and the wok for such fab quick food.

The Cobb for wonderful roasts, baked potatoes and yummy slow cooked meats.
