hi there , brought one of these today , all set up followed the instructions but noticed after it was lit a couple of times it flamed up round the ring not a lot but is this normal . also i take it that when you pump it when lit that your finger still as to cover the hole on the pump. hope this makes sense, cheers Paul
You have to fiddle with the control knob to get it burning with a blue flame and yes, when you pump it when lit you still have your finger over the hole.
Have you made sure you turned the little lighting lever up to light then back down after a minute?
takes a little practice to get right, but when you do its an excellent cooker, buy yourself a JML griddle that fits over the top to make a great hotplate, i have cooked full breakfast for 6 on one £10 from woolies when they have them in
thanks for replies , will be using at weekend whilst lone camping at weston park, if all go,s well will look at the double or triple burner for family trips later in year, cheers Paul.
I have had one of these for the best part of 15 years and find that the best bet is to light the other burner even if you are not using it. It stops any flare ups completely on mine and its a great cooker.
wouldn't go back to gas now. The triple burner (a bit of a luxury) but it pays for itself pretty quickly when using unleaded vs gas. Make sure the pressure is always up otherwise it can get a bit sooty.
