Hi all

      I hope someone can help me .I have been looking for heavy duty camp beds for my other half he has a bad back .And can not sleep on lilos any more hes not a small chap being over 16 stone in weight  I had ordered two off a web site in this country thinking they will be hear in great time to go camping have already cancelled one trip to the fact we are still waiting for deliver only to have them send me the wrong ones needless to say i'm still needing two camp beds .I wont tell you the name or wear they were bought until we have the money back can any one help by giving  use  names or web addresses in this country as its only three weeks until ower hols.from fran and steve

         Im not a happy bunny i will name and shame the site with the camp beds

Outwell newfoundland beds, I have purchased, put 5cm self inflating air beds on top. Very comfortable. My back would always play up after a couple of days on a airbed. Last bank hols we went away for eight days no problems sleeping. I'm 18 stone. Gooutdoors in coventry had them on their shelves. £36 each.

Have look at some of the internet angling suppliers. Although expensive initially, anglers bedchairs will last for many years and some are rated up to 22 stone.

Shop around because prices can vary dramatically.

To be honest i have suffered from a bad back for a lot of years, i've done the blow up mattresses, camp beds etc, and the only thing that does it for me is a straightforward mat under my sleeping bag with a pillow

Although Halfords ar very expensive for certain stuff, their camp beds at £19.99 are good value. They work well for my back, with an Outwell 3.8cm self inflate mat on top.excellent.

I have to agree with caster, the best thing for my back is a mat on the ground and then my sleeping bag. I've tried everything else and they don't work for me.

How about checking Army Surplus equiment
We have one of there Aliminuim camp beds They are heavy duty
We have had it over 10 years now and still going strong

Any of the Fox or jrc bedchairs are worth looking at for bad backs as they offer great support and comfort..Far better that camping beds !!!!
