anyone have any experience with these are they as good as they sound or should I get something different?? I dont really want to do the electric coolbox (don't want to be tied to ehu or car)
We recently invested in one of the 70 Qt Extreme boxes (there's a few of us) from Outdoor Megastore . Just been away with it at half term. Brilliant piece of kit. We filled it with food on the Thursday, added some Techni Ice sheets and some of the food was still frozen on our return on Sunday (didn't have to refreeze the Techni Ice either (check it out if you don't already have some 'Chillerz')

I have the 36Q and it does exactly what it says on the tin, keeps things plenty cold for a long weekend without needing to refreeze ice packs. Highly recommended.
I bought this Igloo from COSTCO (admittedly you may not have one near you or be a member) for about £35. It's 70QT and keeps ice frozen for 5 days (similar to the one you are asking about). But the price I got it for is at least £15 cheaper than anywhere else I've seen.
Other members of this site who have had one longer than me say it's a good peace of kit!
The only problem with the cube design is that you are continually having to remove what's on top to get at what's underneath. The Coleman's don't have the small footprint of the Igloos, but I prefer not having to ferret so much.

COSTCO is American but there are about 20 branches here (see link for list): http://www.costco.co.uk/ (And btw, they are not shops but massive warehouse-style stores.) You have to be a member (nearly £30 p.a.) and, in theory, not everyone qualifies to join. They have a massive range of stuff from food and drink (including alcohol) electricals, hardware, etc., etc..... If they have in what you are looking for it will probably be cheaper (e.g. I payed £350 for a £550 TV) but not always.
how many icepacks do we need for the Coleman cooler, we go without EHU for the 1st time next weekend, have been given the Coleman cooler by father in law.

i was going to get one for this weekend but i loaded the van (an astra not a caravan!) yesterday and it is full to the brim.. so i can't squeeze one in .. unless i unpack and start again
We are going with friends so i have extra stuff but when we get there i'll wait 'til they have had a couple of beers and then pinch some space in their coolbox for my sunday morning bacon :)
however.. as the coleman gets the ucks members seal of approval, i will be getting one for when we go away for the week on our own, in august
