I have been looking at these as I always seem to be pumping up my air bed in the middle of the night with a very noisy pump!

Does anyone have any experience of these?

cheers

Linda

We had the Gelert one with the built in foot pump in one corner.

My son was a wiz at blowing this one up, he could get the double up in about 5 mins, I couldnt even top it up in that time.  quieter than the elelectric pumps though

We has a couple of the Gelert ones, unfortunately they leaked - one of them badly, my son would keep waking up on a completely flat mattress.  Eventually we binned them and moved the kids onto foam mats.  My son is now complaining that his mat isn't soft enough so next time he will be using a ready bed.  Soon we will have tried everything - I keep looking at self-inflating mats.

The Gelert ones we had were the "reeded" air beds which I don't think are anywhere near as comfortable as the the others we have - my favourite is the traditional red and blue box sided one but it is slow to inflate, our flocked top one has a bigger opening and goes up really quickly.

We have one with a built in pump, tried using it a couple of times and gave up.

I found that it would not pump very well. when you lift your foot on the pump the whole pump lifted. We gave up and now use an electric pump on it.

After spending an hour putting the tent up the last thing I wanted was another 30mins wrestling witha silly pump.

We've had every airbed on the market - yet the ones with the inbuilt bellows (by bestway) are still going strong. Sure we've had the odd leak over the years but we just patched them up (patch kit comes with it). Son is using it again this summer when we go to France. Fab piece of kit - saves taking an air pump etc.

I gave up with mine seemed to take forever to inflate and then the airbed kept leaking, so i now have a Coleman Comfort airbed and a eleccie pump more comfortable to sleep on and inflates really quick, so i wouldn't  reccomend.

Hi

They do not pack away very small, because each bed has its own built in pump rather than one pump for many beds. I also find that they wear, break around the pump mechanism. ours didn't last. Ended up with self inflating type.

good luck

We have a couple of these with the inbuilt pump but have to admit I've bought one of the pumps that inflate on suck and blow (Homebargains 3.99) as it is much quicker than the inbuilt thing :)
