Best way to recharge AAA, AA rechargeable batteries ?
Are those solar chargers Any good ?
Seen one at maplins that takes any size batteries and is solar powered
or a universal one that plugs into cigerette lighter
Needed to charge 4 AA for camera and batteries fot mps's and game boys
we camp places without hook up and for long periods
I've not used a solar one so would be interested in feedback on that - my guess would be it would take ages to charge batteries?
We use an invertor from the 12volt outlet in the boot, this avoids the need to buy special chargers for phones, camera batteries, AA's etc. It works well for us as we rarely have hook up.
I also use an inverter when not on ehu. as above, save buying 2 sets of stuff, if you have more than one charger, you can just use a 4 way in the inverter to carge more than one at once!
Hi, I bought a solar charger and found it to be very very slow in fact it's now in the junk drawer, Now gone back to the inverter and a unicross sprint, Very fast and packs away small
------------- Doing as little as possible for as much as possible...
Just got one of those solar battery chargers that looks like a briefcase. Takes about 2 days in the window here to charge 4 batteries which seems OK to me since its free AND should be faster in the South of France.
What about a Solio to run the gizmos direct?

In pratice, it takes about 3 hours to re-charge 2xAAA and 5 hours to re-charge 2xAA. Or thereabouts anyway. So if you can plan ahead, and have 2 sets of batteries, providing you're not using more than 1 set a day, you'll be fine. It's also free energy.
We also keep a 12V charger in the car so we can re-charge whichever batteries are flat on longer journeys. It's almost free energy.
look as a mains / 12v charger that does nmh nickel metal hydride battries . the battries are on offer in aldi at mo , but dont get the charger as there crap
