Depends on how you load.
If you do it like I did, they won't. Firmly on the bottom, sports bag on top, filling up the room between bottle and lid.

Or put them in between the bags, gives them a softer basis.

I'm sure I've read somewhere that by law, gas cylinders must be secured to the vehicle, e.g. strapped in.   Whether this would apply to a trailer or not, I don't know.

Ours goes into the back of the trailer too, but is more wedged-in than placed in!

If ever we are lucky/organised enough to reduce our camping stuff so that we can actually see the gas bottle, it might be worth strapping it so that it can't move around. At the moment, it has no chance of doing so!

We always have a bit of a panic, when using Eurotunnel, when they want to inspect the gas bottle!
