Hi Graham,
re your comment - "even poor quality is better than nothing" I agree with you apart from the EHU. If you cant afford a 'proper' one, ie with RCD and from a reputable manufacturer, then go without. The compromise with EHU is not cosmetic, it is safety, it's really not worth risking it.
Agree with earlier remarks on Coleman Comfort airbed and pump also the Campingaz stove -we use all of them and are very happy with them.

That's good to know thanks Charlies Mummy.

We won't have EHU, so that's not an issue (no cheating here ).

I have ordered the cooker, comforts plus pump, table, kitchen unit, kettle, so only sleeping bags, pillows, rugs, lights, gas, food and must be more things to go!!! Guess I'm good for over £400 so far (gulp), but the second trip will be dead cheap.

Graham

Yeah, right Graham, "Spectrum is Green" and all that!

Wish I'd bought Coleman double comfort, but I already had a blow up mattress (double with a flock top). Just got another from Towsure (£20 I think) but I've seen it cheaper elsewhere (sigh). Oh, I give up. Maybe I'll get a Colemean after all, since they're on offer for £20 somewhere. The thing is, I haven't actually used all this stuff, because like you I'm returning to camping, so maybe it's all rubbish. I consider the cheap stuff to be essentially throw away, but I'll treat it all with respect so I can get the most out of it. Especially that Argos picnic table thing as many people say they collapse (that's half the fun of camping I thought).

My EHU is a proper Sunncamp one with RCD, circuit breaker and three sockets. No compromises allowed there, but at least it means I can use my little drinks fridge and get cold beer. Oh yes, there are some things one does not compromise on!

Not if you're anything like me it won't!  I can always find new stuff to buy and when you've got everything you start to upgrade it.  Or maybe I just have a slight shopping addiction?

It seems like no-one uses an Aerobed. After being "let down" and sleeping on the ground a couple of nights, I bit the bullet and bought an aerobed. This baby is guarenteed to not let me down. It is brilliant. It already sports all the features that the new Coleman is going to have and some. The price tag probibly puts people off, but I went for quality and have not been disapointed. It has a built in pump which means you can let it really firm so that it feels just like a normal sprung mattress.

Has anybody else used an aerobed?

The trouble with the aerobed is that you buy the rechargeable pump with each one. I needed four beds, so that's four pumps to buy and carry/store. You only really need the pump to inflate the bed and then it should be done. You can get them as hard as you like with the cigar lighter pump.

In terms of features, all I need is a bed that doesn't deflate and is comfortable. The Coleman ticks all the boxes I need, so why pay more?

Oh, and camperlands are doing the singles for a cracking £11.98 too.

Graham

Just bought one of these from Camperlands. Hope they are as good as everyone is saying.
