Blimey! They will be charging for tables and chairs, next!

We've never been charged for a trailer, and wouldn't be happy about paying extra for it, either! As others have said, we push it out of the way (usually behind the tent) so it is neither obtrusive nor in use during the stay.

Rip-off! Let's start a petition!

Earlier this year Lobb Fields wanted to charge me a double pitch fee because I have a kitchen tent.   The following week was a high season so the charge would have been £36 a night!!! Just me, a small dome and an Outhouse Hut.   I didnt stay of course.

never been charged for use of our trailer - can't say I have ever heard of it either....perhaps the site misunderstands and thinks you have a trailer tent? I have come across some sites (of the holiday park/commercial type) that charge extra for trailer tents but never for a trailer....mind you I think these days more and more sites are trying to find ways of squeezing a few extra quid out of you - why can't they all just stick to a fee per pitch type?  I get really annoyed with all the extras they want to charge and your still only using the same pitch and facilities!...whilst on this rant I got really p***ed of recently when trying to book a site in derbyshire for the august bank holiday - been using this site for about 5 years, when phoned to make the booking this time they wanted a minimum stay of FIVE nights - taking the mick I think, we wanted 4 nights - but refuse to pay for 5, how many nights do they think a bank holiday consists of??, don't mind the 3 night minimum stay for bank holidays but I think some of these sites are starting to get a bit greedy, topic for a new thread - greedy campsites?? - right then rant over, I'll shut up now!..

Well, if it is rant time:

I also don't know why campers should be billed per item, if they are already paying for the pitch plus per person.

For example, we usually go camping with our three kids, so pay for 3 x addtional folk (fine by me, though it does amuse me that nowadays a child of 12 is considered an adult).

If we take a big tent, there is nothing else to pay, yet if we take three pop up tents and a day room, we then often have to pay exta for 2 x pup tents and a gazebo, since only one tent is included in the pitch fee.

Just because they aren't all under the same piece of fabric, doesn't mean they occupy more room on the pitch!

I've never been charged for our trailer - Erde 142, including at a Haven site.   It's just stored being/to the side of the tent.  I can understand for things like a boat trailer, as they can be pretty big - but most trailer that I've seen being used to transport the tent etc are fairly small.

I have been charged for an extra car, which is a bit of a bummer, but provided its only around £2 per night, worth it for the comfort that the extra space gives.
