Hi,

I have towed my trailer with a 1.3 Nova. No problem at all.

In the past, one suspension unit has collasped on the way to cornwall, the other developed the loudest speak I have ever heard. They still got there and back though, and were replaced with heavier units. This meant I have carried too many bags of cement and the pressed steel chassis assembly buckled, now straightened and reinforced.

The only thing I can't do is a three point turn, it's far easier to take the trailer off and turn round without it.

Easier not to reverse, and it you have to, try to back downhill if you have a choice.

Take a spare wheel with you, even if it's one of the ones you took off.

Hello, towing shouldn't be too daunting.  er however if its an old trailer I would definately check (or get someone to check) the axle arrangement and hubs particularily the bearing grease.  Because they don't need MOT's and some of them spend their lives in the garden they can quickly become a little shall we say dodgy. 

I had a bearing shatter on me not so long back, at er something mph ;) on the A1.  A wheel locking up is not a good feeling at speed,  fortunately I have more experience towing than I have maintaining trailers or it could have been a costly lesson.  I'm not trying to scare ya just think you would feel more confident knowing the thing behind you was in good working order.  (oh and do do the reversing practice in the car park thing)
