I was at a camp site recently that lent us a folding metal stand for use with disposable bbq's. The legs folded out so that the BBQs stood about 6 inches off the ground and the bbq slid into the top of the unit.
It seemed like a very good idea as we only use the disposable bbq's when camping as don't want the mess/fuss of a proper charcoal bbq.
Therefore i am trying to find where to purchase these stands from, with no luck so far. Does any one know of anywhere that sells them?
Some disposable bbq's now come with legs folded under them to keep them off the ground. They are no dearer than those without and it saves you transporting the stand as well.
Probably no use to you being in Bournemouth, but Go Outdoors are selling them in store. I think I've also seen then in a supermarket, but can't remember which one. Personally

sorry hit the wrong key.....anyway.....Personally don't think that much of disposable bbq's, the last 3-4 we've had, half the coals didn't light until about an hour after, by which time the other half had started to cool. We've gone for a portable one instead http://www.iwantoneofthose.com/fold-flat-bbq/index.html now

We decided on this - eBay item 320072108947 (no, not me selling !). They are small, so we have two - one for the veggie stuff, they just fit a single bag of instant lighting charcoal and pack up really tiny and totally flat, weigh just about nothing. Little legs keep them 2-3 inches off the floor or two can fit onto a beanstalk kitchen stand. Reusable, so better for your carbon footprint than the tinfoil ones ;-)
Can recommend.

Mutley: Like the look of those folding bbq's....might have to consider that.
The benefit of just using the disposable ones is that all the mess is just thrown away and dowsn't have to be repacked into my car. In my view worht the pain of having to use them, most qwork ok, some dud ones i just don't buy again (e.g. sainsbury's ones)
But still need some stands. THe wire ones you get with some bbq's are ok, but when you rely on picking up these bbqs at random you cannot alwas guarantee to get ones with legs. The stands we were lent were really stable and mugh better then these flimsy wires ones you sometimes get.
I bought a couple of quite large ones from Aldi's on sunday (£2.99) and it says it has its own legs. The rate its going I might still have them next year this time.!!!!!!
I`ve been using one of these this year. A disposable BBQ fits exactly into it so you can just throw it away afterwards. You also get the benefit of an adjustable rack too.
(Sorry if its the same as the ebay one above but I cant check at work!)
