As far as i know you only run a fridge on 12 volts when towing ( tow car supplying the 12 volts ) , and when running 12 volts there is no thermostat control ( ie it would be running a full pelt all the time ) .
You'd probably be better off getting it working on gas ( make sure you have the installation checked ) .

if it's the RM123 I can email you a copy of the manual, it's fairly clear on the fitting and wiring requirements.
