Hi all

We're off on a wee tour of the north of Scotland later this week.My Dad's produced a Campingaz stove (2 burners and a grill) from the loft. Looks the same as the Campingaz Chef currently available but this was probably from the 70's.It's in perfect condition, never been used. I'd love to make the most of this as we're a family of 5 and all we have is my wee single burner I've had for years.
So I have 2 questions:
Does anyone think this will be unsafe to use after all these years ?(it really is in perfect, unused condition)
From what I've read elsewhere on here I should be able to use whatever gas with the right regulator, but setting up is going to cost us as much as it would to buy a stove. Can anyone in the Stirling area lend a suitable cylinder for a week (we'll fill it ourselves, of course, and fill it for you when we're done). We've tried local recylcing centres for cylinders but all are too big - 13Kg was the smallest we could find. Any help or advice much appreciated

Any calor dealer should exchange a large bottle for a small one according to Calor, i rang them last week and they put me onto my nearest calor dealer, i took a 15 Kg bottle in and exchanged it for a 4.5 Kg, the cost was £11-49 although calor raised the RRP to £11-75 this week i believe

As far as the cooker is concerned, it should be fine but as a precautionary measure i would renew the hose as rubber tends to perish with time, they're not expensive

That's great advice Castor, thanks very much. I didn't know about the policy on bottle sizes - that helps a lot. Thanks too for the warning about the hose - never thought of that. I've seen sets with regulator, hose and clips available so I'll get one of those.
Thanks again
