We have just had our first trip with a 40L Icey tek box bought through UKCS - and it was still working fine at the end of our 11 day break!
We followed the instructions and filled it with ice they day before going, and chilled all the stuff that was going in it. We loaded it up with fresh ice and all the food (and booze....hic!) on the day we set off. We took our freezer packs in case we could not find ice supplies, and it was a good job we did. The site we were on had a freezer so we could refreeze the blocks, and given the rather damp and cool weather we only needed to change to blocks every other day. I am sure that if the weather had been proper July temperatures, a daily change of blocks would have been sufficient to keep things cold for 11 days.
However, these ones aint cheap...see here......but it is robust and lightweight and we felt it compared favourably to the Coleman extreme and other boxes we had looked at before settling on the icey tek. After all, the Ozzies know all about how to keep beer cool!
