Hi all

I've not gone camping yet but am currently shopping for the basic kit...cooker, beds, lighting

I like the look of the Campingaz Chef cooker cause it is doulbe hob and grill (I'm cooking for family of 4).

I'm a bit confused by the whole gas requirements though.

I bought a gas bbq from Homebase this year along with one of these http://www.bp.com/productinfo.do?categoryId=9007898&contentId=7014805

I've had a read and it's UN1978 (not sure if that means anything) and requires a 27mm regulator although I don't know what pressure I should be looking at?

My bbq came with a regulator 37mbar? and I was wondering if I could just take this off and use with the Campingaz stove?

So my questions...is this gas appropriate and can I reuse the regulator off my bbq.

Apologise if this kind of question has been asked before.

Regards

Wayne

The gas bottle looks like it's propane gas just badged up in a fancy BP bottle. If you have a regulator that fits this bottle, which it sounds like you have, then yes you can use it with a camping gaz chef cooker/grill.These cookers use propane and butane as long as the right regulator for the bottle is used there shouldn't be a problem.

I use propane with a 37mbar regulator with the same cooker.

in my limited experience with such things, you might find it easier to get another regulator for your cooker, and just switch the gas bottle rather than faff about changing regulators as well.
