We got one of the small safes from Screwfix and fitted it under the oven (pan storage) and use it for passports camera and credit cards etc.

If you use nyloc nuts it would be very difficult to remove (unless they cut a section of floor out.

Got a battery - emptied the acid out - washed it out - cut out the base - fitted cash box and welded it onto a chassis member - placed battery over the top and now it looks like it's part of the leisure battery bank, even to the extent that it looks like it's cabled in.

Mind you, Robbers  take one look at my van and usually leave money, food, clothing etc...

    got my mini safe from robert dyas the hardware shop it is realy neat and strong it is fairly small so you can hide it very easy and the bolts are covered when the unit is locked i paid £8-99

I like the battery idea.

Top tip!

We have one of those joking bean tins, not secure but makes a good hide a,d blends in with the other tins in the cupboard.

But we do have an alarm in the van with PIR detectors.
