It would depend on the make! If they are Calor then go for it. Some of the other brands though "loan" you a free bottle anyway so they wouldn't be worth it.
As to refilling, Calor is very easy - most caravan shops, many garages, etc. Camping Gaz (not common on caravans) isn't too dificult - but the only one you can get throughout Europe.
BP Gaslight is becoming more common. BP garages obviously stock it, as do Homebase.
Other brands are variable. Some are very localised in their supply.
