Appalling behaviour from PC world! I shake my head (I hope google picks up on this thread ).
I have never associated PC world staff with the world of computing, they are just trained retailers; but, what they are trained in, I don't exactly know. I've had to fix a few PC's for friends after PC world had "fixed" them (well and truly!). They seem to have a lot of salespeople that all hide in the back room and leave the till empty with just a security guard sitting on their 'throne'.
Avoid 'offers' and other gimmicks with laptops, they are flogging cheap kit and everyone benefits from the deal, apart from you. If it is too good to be true, then it usually is!
Have a look at EBUYER - they usually do good prices most products have customer reviews, which they don't EDIT.
ACER, TOSHIBA and ASUS are all good (I mean they're not SONY, DELL or IBM's but then we're not paying those prices, are we?).
I have to say, compared to other retailers, in the majority of camping shops I've been too, I've never had 'poor customer service' - all staff really care about the products they sell and know what they are capable of. Hmm....sounds like the makings of a new thread. Discuss.

Everything should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler.
