My neighbour has given me a 7kg Calor gas bottle for me to take camping and hook my cooker up to it. I got my cooker from Argos and it says to use it with a 904 or 907 campingaz cylinder.
My question is - can I use this calor gas instead of campingaz? If I can, I need a regulator, can I just buy one of these to attach to the cylinder and away I go?
ive got 2 X 15kg bottles that ive no idea how much is left in them, and i dont want them.
would i be able to take these to a camp shop or caravan place or something, and swap em for something more suitable for camping? or do i need to take em to the tip?
The regulator for a 7Kg bottle is the same as the 15Kg bottle as used in household gas fires, like this
They clip on from the top of the bottle, the smaller 4.5Kg bottles, which i use and are ideal for camping, take a regulator like this
So in order to avoid buying two regulators try to get hold of an old Household gas fire and pirate the regulator, shame you live so far away, i would have given you one
No sorry, the Camping gaz bottles have a different regulator, they screw on from the top
If you intend to camp mainly in Britain then stick to Calor as they are cheaper, RRP for 4.5 £11-75_), and they are more plentiful, if you intend to camp abroad the calor is not available and you should go for the 904, 907 camping gaz, if the regulators you have fit the bottle you have then you will be OK, when you change to a smaller bottle, (4.5Kg) the regulators are only about a fiver
