Hi folks, I have just contacted two sites to enquire about booking a couple of days away, i mentioned that i would be putting a tarp under my tent and they agree if it is Eco friendly, i dont have that kind and therefore can't use there sites, given the rain that has fallen i only want to protect my equipment, i think that is fair or am i being too protective, and does anybody have these Eco friendly tarps, look forward to your replies, Chris

I think they must mean 'ground sheets' but if your tent's got a SIG then does not matter. I would keep quite and just put the tarp down, what are they going to do, look under your tent!!!

Neil.

I'd agree with nwestwood it will be an eco groundsheet but if your tent has a built in groundsheet you wouldn't necessarily need anything unless you are on really stoney ground :)

I found the ECO friendly groundsheets look great....until it rains and the wormcasts come through, then after a couple of days or so you have as much mud as you would have had without one.  Ours is back in the shed until I find another use for it !. Muckalo.

Just put the tarp down.

While I can understand the rule for Awnings, I wouldn't want to use an ECO sheet inside the living area - what, and let all those worms through - as well as letting mud through, when wet?

As Neil says, are they going to send the ground police into your tent? Just tell them it's a new B&Q line -super improved blue-breathable fabric-tarp!

Great, so the grass can grow - ahem, isn't there a big tent starving it of light anyway? It takes a week for the grass to turn yellow and 2 weeks to turn it into a crop circle.

Everything should be made as simple as possible, but no simpler.

We used a tarp to keep the mud out and put an eco friendly one over the top because it felt nicer to walk on.
