Hi all, I've just purchased 2 (1 left zip & 1 right zip) vango astral xl sleeping bags after all the good reports etc. etc.

Now it's probably just me and my amazingly miniscule brain capasity, but I can't work out how to zip them together as others have described. "Why would you want to zip them together?" I hear you cry. OH insists on using me as a hot water bottle on those cold, winter, o.k., summer nights.

OH said "Just unzip them all the way, and"- "Stop!" I said, because there are 2 sets of zips. 1 which runs from head end to within approx. 12" from the bottom, and 1 which runs from here to the bottom and round to the end. PLEASE HELP AN IDIOT!

Thanks, dodoharv

Not sure if the sleeping bags are handed – are they?

Have you tried un zipping them and laying them on the floor, I had a similar problem with a couple of bags I wanted to use as a double for the over cab bed, in the end all became clear after 6 pints of “old speckle hen”

Old speckle hen, ahhhh, music to my ears. Thanks griswolds, all became clear with the (stupidly simple) sleeping bag after a moments thought of a pint of the best wet stuff going!

If they do not zip together as first thought, take them back and get yourself a coleman double hudson bag. I bought one from a company online called yeomansoutdoors and it is amazing!!!!!!

They use their own zip along the bottom then zip to each other from toe to head, one on top & one on the bottom, they are that warm & big we rarely zip the top shut just snuggle down as it wraps round you.

Yep - Cliff is right. Lay then so their zips are side by side. Just undo the SIDE zips (not the zip along the foot of each) and then attach the two bottom zips to each other, and the two top ones. This is exactly what we do - and it gives you oodles of room!
