I recently sent back my second Camping Gaz Euro Toilet, because when we used the sliding arm to drop waste into the waste tank, water and other fluids would leak out and then onto the tent floor.
Could anyone suggest a good brand and model for around £70-£80, I have heard good comments about Thetford porta potti's
We to had the same problems with our Camping Gaz one and went for a Porta Potti 365 model. Great loo, same height as the one in your home, greater waste capacity, but is heavy when full. Has a tube for discharging waster that is controlled via a button, helps reduce splashback when emptying. Highly recommend. I would personally stick with Thetford here, spares are easy to come by.
I have one of the 'Mobil' toilets from Lidl as recommended on this site and I understand it is similiar to a Thetford and it is awesome, no leaks and easy to empty. For £29.99 you can't go wrong.
try a fiamma bipot come in different sizes very good we use one and have had no problems with it also we put a large plastic tray underneath to stop any dribbles also in my experience any water that comes out of the slide will be clean water from top tank and the easiest way to stop that is to use a silicone grease around the rubber seals when not used for a while the grease does dry out

We bought one of these too, and the instructions even say "Thetford" on them! Not used it yet... but will do, I'm sure!
we went out to get a Thetford a few months ago. whilst in the shop we spotted an identical one made by Kampa that was around £20 less! the chap in the shop told us that the only difference was the price, as Kampa jumped in when the patent ran out just before Thetford could renew it.
at the end of the day, it ticked all the boxes that we wanted it to, as well as being less expensive. have found it very easy to use, it is the same height as a 'normal' toilet, and quite simple to empty.

Can I just say... second hand, second hand, second hand....
you often see thetfords going for very reasonable rates... I got mine second hand with the camper....... I do think they are better but would never have bought one new.
As there's been only one mention of the Fiamma bipot, I'll add that we use one of these and have had no problems whatsover (apart from the time I forgot to empty it in time and it overflowed, but you don't want to know about that )
Just a note to the OP - I believe that you should open the sliding arm before making your deposition
hi small tip if you have a camping gaz model spray a silican lubricant around the seals this will prevent leaking reason a small number have leaked in the past is the seal has dryied up from manufacturing date to resale date easy soliution
You need Top tank usually Pink this keeps bowl clean and smelling pleasant and waste tank Blue or Green this breaks the waste up. There is also one called top and tail which you use in both. Don't put the waste tank one in the top as It stains. One tip I picked up on here is if using for No. 2s make a cross with toilet paper over the hole and when released it makes a little package no skid marks The other thing is cheap toilet roll breaks down better. This is one piece of kit you will grow to love.
