Hi, have just rang the Surrey Quays branch - they don't have them in and don't know if they will in the future, either - something to do with production. This may be why they're inflated on ebay . . .
There was a thread on this not so long ago. It has been suggested that some greedy ebay sellers are buying all the stocks when they arrive at decathlon and then putting then on ebay.
I live no-where near a deathlon and purchased one off ebay myself last week. It griped having to pay such an inflated price but it was either that or risk our weekend being ruined cramped up in a small space.
I wonder why this causes such strong feelings. Someone buys some stock at one price and sells (hopefully) at another higher one. That's how shops work all the time. In this particular instance, if Decathlon suddenly got lots of stock in, the buyer could catch a huge financial cold.
I guess the arguement would be that Decathlon are selling them too cheaply in the first place, but if people are prepared to pay more, then it all comes out the same in the end.
If the demand is so strong and supply so weak, the Ebayer might be doing you a favour by actually having stock to deliver.
Business is business, it's got nothing to do with being fair.
I dont have stong feelings either way. Nor did I suggest that it was not fair!
The only thing that annoyed me was I am a bit of a bargain hunter and it was frustrating having to pay the inflated costs in order to get hold of one. That has nothing to do with fairness, more the fact that I like to bag a bargain when I can!
I didn't mean to imply you in particular had those views. There have been a couple of other threads on the subject and your mention of the Ebayer brought it back to me.
