Hi,

Just wondered if anyone used a ready bed for a 2 year old, as is it recommends from 36 months. We have just bought a small 2nd tent and the travel cot would really be too big.

Thanks in anticipation.

We have the "My 1st ready Bed" for our 18 month old son and it is great. It has a headboard and side bumpers built in. Its really good for smaller ones and is a bit more like a cot than a bed.

We found the cheapest at Tesco Direct (Thomas the Tank Engine) but they do a girls one too. Argos also do them but they are a little more expensive.

We got ready beds last year for the then 3 and 5 year olds.  We put a duvet over the top to keep them snug as it was rather chilly at night.  We were going to get them sleeping bags for this year as we now have the TT and they will be on a sponge mattress, but found they make lovely little beds for them with the mattress removed, and we can slip their pillows in underneath.  The now 2 year old has got one too.  I will probably tie something round the bottom so she can't slip down too far.  She went in it with the mattress included at the weekend, and I tied my dads scarf about a foot up to do the same.

If you have a Netto handy, they had them in on Monday for £14.99 or you could try Newcron.

Thanks all, thats made my mind up. We tried Netto (infact that's what gave us the idea), but they haven't had them in yet.

I'll try tesco direct, many thanks to you all.

Yes, we use the standard readybeds that say from 36 months, we got them when the youngest was only just two and have had no problems.I can't see that they are any more dangerous than an airbed and sleeping bag for a young child so never worried. We also put quilts or sleeping bags on top though as they are not the warmest things ever.

I've got a 'My First Ready Bed' for my 2 year old daughter - she hates it!

She has her own sleeping bag (tied halfway so she cant slip down) and sleeps in the double bed with me. I've put it away for now & will try her again when she's a bit older.

I've got a ready bed for my 2 kids and definiatley recomend using a sleepingbag or a quilt aswell because they aint that warm .unzip it so its at the right height for your toddler and fold it inside (so the flap isnt loose) so they cant pull it over their head
