A couple of months ago, one needed replacing as the valve had ripped.
I put this down at the time due to folding the bed for storage with the valve along one of the creases.
I replaced the bed 2 months ago. Went to use it this weekend, and the valve has split again. It's split where (sorry for this !) the tab you pull out meets the rest of the valve seal that you push in.
Will be taking it back for a refund, but in the meantime, has anyone else had a problem ? Is there some special technique for opening the valve - I pull on the tab to release, but it does take quite a bit of effort.
Never had any problems with either of my two, and I`ve had them both for a couple of years. I don`t recall the tabs needing a huge amount of effort though, which leads me to suspect there may be a problem with the way you`re doing this rather than a fault, sorry. I pull the whole valve out then uncap it rather than pull it out using the cap to drag the valve out....perhaps this is the problem?
Valk_scot, how do you pull it out without using the stopper ? Do you stick your fingers in, or push from below, or something else ?
I spread the thumb and forefinger of my left hand out, push my hand down flat round the whole valve and sort of push the valve up between my finger and thumb (bit like milking a cow!) and this allows me to get my right fingers round the valve stem and pull it up. Without using the tab.
Difficult to descibe in detail! But you get the idea. I`ve got small strong fingers though. I suppose you could use the tab to get it going, if you couldn`t quite get into the valve, as long as you used the pressure round the valve to help and got hold of the valve stem as soon as possible.
