On the downside, the ones that are made of plastic, bend 'orribly in stoney ground and then you have to use metal ones. Unfortunately you will probably be like me and not realise how bad the ground is, until you have bent your expensive delta pegs. We have now switched over to Wurmi Screw In Pegs. Not so likely to damage them and a lot easier to put in and screw out.
Anyone that tries to hammer plastic pegs into stony ground is wearing their baseball cap back to front!
If in doubt, test the ground with a cheap pin peg, if it's stony use rock pegs, in softer ground use Delta Ground Anchors. The truth is though, that any sensible camper carries a selection of pegs for varied types of pitch. I'm sure Wurmi Pegs are excellent, but they're more expensive than Delta Pegs, more difficult to set and remove and require some form of spanner. I'm sure they have their place in the camper's armoury of pegs, but when the wind picks up I'd sooner have Delta Pegs on the end of my guys.
