Hi all

Can anyone answer this simple but slightly delicate question please?

I have heard that you have to use special toilet paper when using the chemical toilet, is this true or will ordinary stuff do?

Thank you

Peter

The general opinion seems to be that ordinary will do quite well; I think the theory is that the "special" paper breaks down somewhat quicker/easier than ordinary in the chemical toilet, but as I assume people usually empty their toilets fairly frequently, I wouldn't have thought this was a major problem? We've always used ordinary without problems...

Hi Gram

Thanks for the very quick reply, I thought pretty much the same thing but being a re born caravaner in this modern approach to the great outdoors I had to ask and it's not a question I fancied asking face to face!!!

P.S. I assume your message was written with a crayon????

Thanks Again

Peter

Andrex is really fluffy and falls apart easily ( makes a right mess of your bathroom floor with its fluffy bits ) so it breaks down easy enough to use in chemical loos !

I started with the special Thetford paper. After finishing that I bought normal paper. Thetford actually created large lumps and clogging and hindered normal emptying, the normal paper dissolved well. So i never use the special paper anymore, only normal paper as that in fact functions much better that the so called special paper. All toilet papers are designed to dissolve fast as otherwise the sewage systems would get blocked every day. The variety is a matter of preference.

Cheapest supermarket's own brand is best - and as I buy the loo paper AND empty the loo, my choice rules in our house!!!

We too always use the supermarket's own budget brand.  the cheaper the paper the easier it breaks down.
