I know this topic has been done to death but I need some help on where to locate a Waeco Combicool CAB 40 - the model that chills down to 30 degrees below ambient - for a reaonable price. We are off to the Loire at the end of August so I would prefer this model. If anyone can recommend an alternative to Waeco that chills down to the same temperature I would be grateful or indeed if anyone is selling one!
Not a 3 way, but we decided to give a normal type "tabletop" fridge. Only £60 from Currys. We have just came back from SW France and it worked a treat (v warm), spent the money saved on more wine !!
The Waeco 3 way is a great fridge, we used one for about 6 years. I bought a new Waeco coolfreeze 25 thats much better and it can freeze if you want it to, down to -18'C. We only set it at +4'C to use as a fridge. The reason i changed is this, last year the ambient temperature in the tent was near to +40'C and the 3 way wasnt doing the job on my beers or keeping the milk n butter cold enough. It needs to be at +5'C or less or your in trouble with stuff going off = belly ache..... We paid about £140 6 years ago (about £120+ theses days) for the Waeco 3 way all those years ago and it served us well, the Waeco coolfreeze 25 was about 3 x that = ouch! but it is a Compressor cooler for refrigeration and deep-freezing with CF special electronics (but worth it.)

Hi, can someone help please? I've had a Waeco Combicool CAB-40 for 13 years and it has always worked perfectly. Last week I had mistakenly left it on with two power sources all day, gas and AC power. When I came back in the evening I found it off. I didn't make much of it till I realized that it wasn't cooling as well as before; the inside temperature used to be between 0° and 5° and now it's between 10° and 15° and it won't go any lower, no matter what.
Is it broken? Is it an easy fix? Anyone knows what I've broken exactly? Where can I take it to be fixed? Thanks!
