Just bought vango nitestar for my daughter but its a tad too small - she's 2 years old.

Does anyone have suggestions for a slightly bigger bag?

Do you definetly want proper sleeping bag?  We use a readybed for our daughter who is 2 1/2.  Basically it is a Toddler sized air bed with built in sleeping bag, it also have an air headboard and side buffers to keep them in place.

If it is very cold, we supplement this with blankets.  No problems so far with it.

I'm not too fussed just as long as they are warm. Where can you get one as we're going onour first camping trip this weekend. Just bought a tent today and want to make the most of the good weather while it's here.

just come back from 2 weeks in france. we were worried that two year old would crawl out of, or right into, a conventional bag so put her on the blow up bed with inflatable surround as decribed by other reply (looks a bit like a shallow dinghy) and then had her in conventional gro-bag type sleeping bag with blanket on top, these bags go right up to 3 year olds at least, enjoy...

When  my  daughter was very young  I  was  worried that she  would  dissapear  down the bottom of  her  sleeping bag and  had an  idea to  clamp it  at a   decent   length ,with  two  bits  of smoothed wood  screwed  together at  bottom .  I  never  got  to  try it though  but I reckon  its a go'er as it would  also hinder  rotation  to some degree .  Sh 's  six now  and  getting too big  for   her child size mummy bag . how did  she  get that big so  fast lol

Hiya

Just use an adult sleeping bag & tie it up just under her feet with a piece of ribbon. You can alter as she grows. Saves wasting money on childs ones as they grow so quick.

Vabgo do a convertible bag which has an extra section you can zip in the bottom convert from small child to large child - we have one and it is very good and will last you a long time

We have the Vango Junior for our 2 year old. He's so tiny in it but he does just fine in it and it keeps him super warm. There's a pic in my gallery of him in it. Got it at Go Outdoors real cheap.

I use a standard size envelope sleeping bag (2 season) for my 2 year old daughter & tie a cord just under her feet. so she cant slip too far down. She sleeps well in it.

Tried the readybed and gro-bag combination but she couldn't move about freely enough and didn't like it.
