my local shop had sold out.. not even any empty boxes on the shelves, so they must have been sold out before today and no more are expected 
they offered to refund me for the broken chair but i don't have a receipt (it is already a replacement) and i suspect it will show up at the cheap price if they scan the the bar code on the bag.
i'll hang on and see if they come back next year and swap it for a new one then.
maybe ours broke because of the heat and not because of my husband's rotundness 
i would really rather have one that isn't by the evil walmart
