my mum had some of those bags and they leaked so if you have a problem with them you wont get everything home.

We used to take duvets and changed to left and right zipped bags (although i cannot share a bag with my hubby he is too hot and i would probably kill him by the morning the option made me feel like i made the effort!!!) We have the stuff pillows from milletts and I was amazed when I put the usual pile of stuff next to the bags and pillows pile it was half the size. We are just as warm and cosy too. We also bought extra wide bags meaning I did not get thet claustriphobic feeling as I like to move.

We used to take a duvet but regu;larly woke up with the quilts very damp.

Before our hols this year we bought 2 single bags from Argos which zip together.

No claustrophobia as they zip all round and the overall width is nearly 7 foot.

No dampness whatsoever.

We were extremely comfortable sleeping in these for 14 nights during July/August and are happy to recommend them for others.

bought a double bag from argos, and once out the bag it was MASSIVE!! and thats the way it stays cos theres not a chance that itll go back in the bag. grrrrr >-(

tried putting it at the bottom of the boot and putting the heavy stuff on top, in the hope that it squashes the air out, but its a MONSTER bag with a mind of its own :-/

IMHO there is no substitute for duvets and pillows from home. A great tip I am about to take up is to use vaccum packed bags to reduce space, put beding in bags and suck out air with vaccum cleaner or air pump on suck instead of blw. They sell them in Lakeland (kitchen shops and mail order) but I think you can get them cheaper elsewhere. Havent done it yet but have seen threads on this board suggestiong it and like many threads I read I think it sounds brill!
