I have just brought a Carri Chef Deluxe after seeing a friend of ours use theirs a couple of weekends ago, It looks fantastic just had it out of the box. We plan on using ours in the garden as well to replace our ageing outback gas bbq.
I paid £99 from riversway leisure in Preston and got a free cover worth £8.99
If space or weight is an issue in your car then you might want to think again. They are not small or light when packed. We bought the full monty but found we were only using the grill/griddle plate so when space in the boot became a problem we sold it and bought a griddle plate from Argos that fits over our 2 burner stove. This works for us with a single burner picnic stove for the odd time we need a gas ring as well. We dont miss our Cadac at all.
4 of us went away a couple of weeks ago, we were going to a wedding and had been advised to have a good breakfast as the food was not going to be until much later (and no time for lunch).
On the griddle plate I was able to cook 8 sausages, bacon, 6 eggs, tomatoes, mushrooms. After I served these out there was enough residual heat to warm through a tin of baked beans!!
4 of us, kids love bbq and so do we.quite often people join us when camping so weather permitting we usually bbq.go out doors have them on offer at the mo and im sick of the disposable barb ,also we use a gas barb at home.so think i will invest.keep the suggestions coming tho
go on buy one you know you want to..lol i got mine last year its the best thing i ever brought,i do the big breakfast, curry's,chill,s,veg rice,BBq's and all sorts on it..also i use it at home,GO ON BUY ONE
------------- one by one
the pixies steal my sanity!!! too many meets 2 mention!!!! Email me if you dare
They are brilliant! We use ours loads when camping and at home - easy to clean, versatile, controllable and for the amount of stuff you can cook I think very portable.
------------- Hotels Suck. Villas are great but I can't take my Cadac on the plane....
I never use the BBQ section on mine as its too much of a Faff to clean. I generally use the flat plate only as this cleans up in seconds.
If you leave the bits and pieces that you do not use at home then it becomes more portable.
I did not think we would use the lid but we do and if used on a low heat then i have peace of mind that meat etc.. is cooked right through as it acts more like an oven with the lid on. I then usually remove the lid for finishing off the meat as it tends to crisp more with the lid off

Looks like we got the same deal as you from Riversway Leisure. Ours just arrived today, so I have been having a bit play for the last couple of hours. Our friends had one on holiday and that sort of made my mind up. I will use it at home and when away with the caravan, so I can now get rid of the bulky old Bar-b-q that is crammed in the shed.HeeeeHaaaaaaH. All we need now is a summer!!!!
