Have just returned from Spain which was good except for my wife's comfortr on her airbed... it might just be old age, but she has tried the airbed thing, and the alluminium rigid bed (my favourite) but still struggles to get a good night's kip. Any suggestions out there? Any help advice, gratefully received.
I can't sleep on an airbed either. We have a folding aluminium bed also, which does give a better nights sleep if you put blankets underneath the sleeping bag for more comfort & insulation along with a pillow.
We bought 2 Fishing beds from Argos this year & these are so much more comfortable.
Normally, these beds cost £60 - £130 in the fishing shops, but Argos ones are around £38 each & are just as good.
My airbed failed me in Cornwall a couple of weeks ago so I bought a folding aluminium one from a camping shop in Newquay. £32 for a branded bed. Argos have the same thing at the moment, un-branded for £18. I found it uncomfortable the first night, but after adding two roll-up camping mats from Morrisons (£5 for 2) I slept lik a log.
My airbed failed me too a couple of weeks ago. Fed up with airbed letting me down (literally) i took off to the nearest camp shop and bought a folding aluminium one for £28.50 - put a couple of folded blankets underneath it and slept like a log. Going to get hubby one (argos as its cheaper) and eventually get the kids ones too as the airbeds die. Plan to replace the blankets with rollmats also.
Hi the advice on the fishing bed is defenetly the way to go.
But the Argos one are OK but they tip up for a pass time when you get in and out like all two leg fishing and lounges do. It is like every thing else you get what you pay for I recommend you go for the JCR 3 leg beds they are first class in comfort and reliability. But the best and most comfortable without are doubt are the expensive 4 leg beds made by Nash. And check out the Nash danny long legs chair. shear camping opulence.

As I've said on other threads, I use a camp bed with a rollmat on top and a Ready Bed on top of that. I've just bought a taller camp bed from Argos and it's great!
our airbed let us down this week too! My beloved Coleman Comfort Double Bed had the mother of all punctures and after 3 attemps to fix it, one of the chambers has had it!.
Lee fancies getting one of those new aluminium ones that most people are talking about until I told him they dont do them in doubles! I quite fancy getting a decent thick sleeping mat as I bunked in with the kids one night and found theirs quite comfy.
I had a Coleman that kept deflating and took forever to blow up - just changed to Aerobed Active and haven't looked back - there is another thread where some bloke has got a discount code - not sure if it still works...
