hiya all,due to quite a few of the sites we`ve looked at this summer now having size restrictions we`er thinking of buying a second tent,as our campus breckenridge (790 * 725) is a bit to big for some of them.we quite like the outwell range especially the montana 6 and the indiana 6.both these tents have the "bath tub" ground sheet and we would like to know what the pros and cons are compared to our sewn in groundsheet.as well as this any advice on these two tents would be appreciated.................cheers

Hiya sorry can't advise on your tent.... but if you post this in the camping under canvas section you may get a better response. We know friends with a Vango Diablo 900 and they were turned away by one site.

Is there a smaller version of the tent you have that you may well consider.

All the best

We have an indiana 8 (which is just slightly longer than the 6 with an extra sleeping pod). I love the bathtub groundsheet. If it's hot, I leave it out, if it's cold I put it in. My sister borrowed the tent last week and put it in cos the ground 'had no grass left'. Some people might say it's not as good cos the bugs might crawl in through the gaps, but I don't mind that.

I like the fact that there's zips on the groundsheet by the doorways, so that you can lie the groundsheet flat while the door's open and zip it up again when it's closed, so that you don't have to step over the groundsheet to get in and out.

I thought the montana 6 had a SIG tbh, but I could be wrong.

Hope that helps, although I'm sure others will be along soon.

I think that is for the side entrance o the monty, the rest is sewn in. I have the indiana 6 and love it....if its hot you can leave the groundsheet flat(not if its forecast rain) or leave it out....if its cold you fit it to the realative toggles and it gives the same effect as a sig

Why oh why would you not want to use your Brekenridge? We have the deluxe and think it's fab. Very easy to put up, space inside is amazing and never had any trouble with plot size.

we love our breckenridge clbewi and it will always be our 1st choice tent but theres quite a few sites that wont take tents that size when using a ehu pitch.we went to the flower of may in filey last week and we were told on our 2nd day that our tent was to big (they even measured it when we were out for the day).they let us stay though and to be honest we were taking up some of the next pitch.so in future we will be double checking size limets with sites when we book and if our breckenridge is to big we will just take our smaller tent.also can you imagine the possibility of having to tell my 3 and 5 year old kids we that we have to go back home when arriving at a site because our tent is to big.

Hi,

Monty 6 has a bathtub groundsheet in entrance door on the side same as our monty 4, but reast of tent has full sewn in groundsheet.

We have never bothered with the bathtub yet although we might next time as we had a hedgehog decide to pop his head in last week in the early hours and i thought we had intruders, lol .
