I bought one in maplins for £100. Sounds the same. Comes in a grey case, with dish, clamps, brackets, receiver, compass, every thing you could imagine. Even at £100 I am very pleased with it. It takes a while to work out how to set up the first time, but once you've done it a few times, it's easy. Excellent buy at £60, go and get it before they sell out!
You can buy B grade ones for £50, own one myself they are an excellent buy, had it 2 years now no regrets, if you are not bothered about Sky tv or channels 4 and 5 buy one.
you can get all the "freesat" channels bar channel 4,5 or 5live and thousands of others bar "sky" but remember as these receivers dont have card slots you cannot get sky on it even if you wanted to.
as a basic receiver they are great for a fixed disk system but limited using a motor.
you can get all the bbc's ,itv's film4 etc
depending on dish size you can use it abroad and pick up alternative satellites too
basically the bigger the dish the more you get !but if you want sky you can daisy chain your sky box from home onto it (with a EHU) and use both (not that i would i dont like mr murdoch) or simply buy a tripod mound and dish and use your sky box but it limited in its use due to its design
what make is the receiver?
generally you point them south then slowlyturn them left till you get a signal but its not just the dish turning left but the incline too.
the arm that holds the lnb should be "about" (depending on where you are) parallel with the ground.
a search for the receiver will get instructions in english
They do come and go. I had to put my name on a waiting list with Maplins last year. It took six months for them to get them in stock. They seem to come into the country in batches. Aldi and Lidl get them in too. However, they do disappear from the shelves from time to time and there can be a long wait for more to come in.
They usually come with two instruction booklets, one English, one German. Maplins customer service is pretty good, if you are missing the English instructions, they can usually email you a PDF file of them. I'd send mine, but they are in the caravan which is not kept nearby. The dish should usually be at 90 degrees to the horizon. Does the On Screen Display come up in English? Mine defaulted to German and had to be altered through the menus, which took some navigating through as my German wasn't too good.
I see the one you got. Not the same as mine, I have THIS ONE
so ,what can you actually pick up on these dishes, if you dont wish to give rupert murdock your "hard earned"
can you pick up the itv and bbc chanels.?
and can you use them abroad?
i am toying with the idea of satelite but not sure of the chanels.
sounds like a good buy if you dont have a monthly fee.

Have a look at this site, it gives you the approx degrees you should be setting your dish to recieve transmitions from different Satelites as theres about 20+ in orbit, plus funny finding things on over systems ie Europe, America
