Wow (just been looking at your pics, thanks), that's some bend on that pole, and the soil did look really loose and wet. Glad to see you got the crumpets buttered to perfection however! BTW who's the dude with no shirt and can you send him round to do my garden
margie, A JCR bed is a bed used by carp fishermen and they are very comfy. My husband thinks he might take up carp fishing as when we went to buy ours he decided there was so much kit for sleeping that must be what carp fisherman do most :)
Rob Orr, if you are reading this, hope you are feeling better :)
what is the news on a soft ground peg ??
am i the only person who has ever had a delta peg rise up out of the ground
Hi Sonja,I'm feeling slightly better thank you.
I can make polypropylene soft ground anchors if they are needed by anybody but to produce the nylon version I would need possibly 5 thousand pounds.
Maybe your Delta peg came out because of the angle the guy was attached. If the others stayed put it has to be something simple.

Delta Ground Anchors..the strongest, most secure tent pegs in the world! Nylon anchors twice as efficient as rock pegs in 'average' soil! Quality stainless pegs for tougher soil are available.

Hi rob, hope you make a full recovery soon.
I suspect it was the angle the peg went in (in fact i suggested that might be the case in another thread) combined with the soft soil and the changing direction of the wind. Looking at the pics again, after carefully aligning ( i thought) the peg with the guy when we banged it back in, it seems to be pulling from a different angle a couple of days later :(
It was quite difficult on the slope to work out the right angles for anything .. hence the mackeson test on the table :)
perhaps you could make the 5k peg a 'must have' for celebs ..
meanwhile i will just be ordering some more metal ones before i go away next time :)
Just needed to say that, after a week in wet windy Wales. Two nights were horrendous, I got up to check the tt several times to find the sides taking a huge amount of battering but the tent solid. Held on by nine deltas on the guys. It was a mud bath, but they didn't move or need adjusting. The peace of mind knowing how solid they were is unexplainable. Ok, so i'm a wittler.
But i'm so glad I have them!
------------- Gone are the 'sleeping on the floor' times, I love my TT.
I had the same problem last week. The ground got saturated and a couple of deltas just slid up through the mud. Unfortunately this resulted in two poles twisting and one spliting but it was gale force winds so don't expect that to happen often! Will look out for the new pegs though.
