We've a Swift van with a gas BBQ point fitted and a bulkhead-type LPG regulator.
The fuss in the press about tarry deposit blockages on these regs is a bit worrying, particularly if we're abroad at the time, so I was wondering about getting a cheap bottle-top regulator (£5 or so) as an emergency spare. If needed I could isolate the built-in regulator (with the tap provided) and then attach a cylinder / reg externally via the BBQ point - but will this work?
According to the schematic in the manual, the BBQ point comes straight off the main pipe before the gas manifold, so I think it should be OK, but does anybody have an opinion if this safe & suitable as a "get you home" solution??
