I bought a camping gaz porta loo and have just took it back today as it leaked from the handle.

Which porta loos are the best to get (no leaking) and rough price

I see you are on Teeside. Why dont you pop down to United British Caravans in Sandy Lane, Wideopen (next to Gosforth Park (newcastle) racecourse) ?
They have porta loos on sale for £26 and from all reports they are pretty good for the money. (take loads of cash though, as there are loads of stuff that you will end up buying extra !!!)

That place nr Gosford Park sounds great but if you have no luck there I would like to put the £30 Lidl portapottis in the mix as they are made by Thetford and we havent experienced any problems with ours.

Another vote for a Thetford here. We to have the camping gaz one it it leaked from the waste tank, friend had a thetford 365 we was so impressed with bought it in the sales in January.

Must agree Thetford is the best, we have an elsan but wish we had brought the thetford its the silly things that count, the convenience of haveing the emptying spout built in and permenantly attached is worth it alone, a fact that will not mean anything to you untill a dark cold wet night when the waste tank is full and you find that some where on the way to the CDP the emptying spout has fell out of its holder.???

It would be far too graphic to explain why they are rubbish but they are!!

Hi, just come back from a weeks holiday in Dorset and used our £29.99 porta loo from lidl`s for the first time. Can`t fault it, easy to clean and even comes with chemicals to get you started. Would recomend.

Thetford, well made and thought-out.

The campingaz ones feel a bit plasticky, the handle is stiff to pull out, compared to thetford and the flush feels like a 'toys r us' squeeky-hammer.

We've always had Thetford ones in our family - never had any trouble with them at all. We've never had the luxury of an emptying spout though, just the hole with a screw cap at the back of the waste tank next to the handle (ours is maybe 15 years old and was the most recent porta-potti we had in the family so we're going back a bit).
