After seeing Millets sale on outwell montana 6 carpets I wondered if anyone had thought of using one (at £29) in the montana 12. It's such a good price...one that I could justify paying!There's only a few cm difference so it could tuck under the bedrooms. Do you think this could work or is there a major flaw in my money saving plan???

You may have to cut it.  It has a slit in the one sidewhere the strap for the bedroom sits. I would imagine you would have to cut it the opposite end for bedroom in the monty 12.

I bought a footprint groundsheet for my Vermont L from Caseys camping and it was cheaper than most sites selling it. The sell the carpets too, compair to prices..  (i got the carpet free when i bought the tent)

i bought a nebraskal xl carpet off e bay. i also use it in my montana 6. i slde the cut out to the bedrooms. it leaves a bit of a gap all round .i found it better than 4 picnic rugs , they kept moving around

thanks for your replies! Torn now between being patient and seeing if the montana 12 is dramatically reduced in the sales or just going for a montana 6 modification!! Would it be likely to fray if cut? I know what you mean by the picnic rugs- we kept tripping over them.
