Hi Guys & Girls, camping newbie here

I'm hoping someone can help with my leaky loo problem?

Yesterday I received my new Campingaz Porta toilet.  Being new to camping, I've never had one of these before so I thought I'd put water in it & see how it worked etc.  Following the instructions, I pressed the pump to put water in the bowl, then pulled out the plunger on the front to let the water out.  However water started dripping off of the plunger & onto the floor.  The more I tested it, the worse it got.  I ended up with a very wet kitchen floor.  I phoned the company who I purchased from & they said they would send me another one.

This morning (you can't fault their speedy service) I received another loo.  Again, I tested it and the same thing happened????? Water dripping from the plunger!!

Does anyone know if this normal?

I'm reluctant to use this loo, as I wanted to put it within our tent but dripping like it does, I'm sure it will leave a wet nasty smell.  Can anyone suggest a make that doesn't drip?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Never had any problems with the Thetford Portapotti range. Well made and so far leak free.

We have the camping gaz one and ours leaked from the waste tank not the plunger. Could be the seal has dried out, could try some olive oil around the seal, we to used to keep ours in a bin bag though to catch the leaks.

We to have now gone the Thetford route (365) great toilet and no leaks.

Glad it's not just me. We first blamed our 3 year old son for his directional errors, before we realised it leaked like a sieve.

I too have now emailed the company I purchased it from and asked for an up-grade to something that doesn't leak.

All those mornings in Cornwall mopping up... Yuk!
