Hi, we have two Gelert Airbeds which we have had less that a year and used maybe a dozen times.  One has had to be thrown away as it started to go down so by the morning it was FLAT and the other is not so bad but is at least half flat after a nights sleep!!!!

We are wondering if this us being unlucky, all air beds are the same or it is this brand.....anyone have any experience of these problems?????

Any recomendations or advice would be very welcome :)

Looks like thing aint made like they used to be. Have just started a thread after having similar problems with a coleman. Had the old style red and blue rubber type ones for years and apart from having to top up every few days never had a problem.

We have two double Gelert airbeds. They have to be reinflated every evening. Then on our last trip in August one of them went completely flat over night - very annoying.I wouldn't buy them again.

Be happy!

It's driving me mad!  So what makes are best.....or what alternatives are there??

It took me 43 years to finaly make up my mind to go camping, the main reason for me resisting for so long is my fear of not sleeping! So when I worked out that is more than pos to have a very comfy nights sleep on a good blow-up bed I was made up!!!!

Now the beds keep going flat it is kinda putting me off again!

So PLEASE advice / help

Matt

I've given up on airbeds.  I now use campbeds and love them, wish I'd bought them in the first place.  No faffing about with pumps, dont get cold.  I bought a cheap exercise foam mat for mine as I like a bit more comfort and its heaven.

Hi, so are there any air beds people would actualy recommend?

We did look at camp beds but just can't get comfy - I am sure this is an issue with us rather than the beds!

There must some goods beds out there?????????

Hi

I admit Gelert make some great gear but airbeds aint one of them.

I have bought 2 singles and one double this year to replace the old rubber ones which had deteriorated with age and were flat by morning.

The Gelert ones appealed to me as they fold up/roll up small and space is not a luxury we have but never again - the boys dont seem to have any problems with thier singles but my double is a nightmare.  I find I have to inflate it every couple of days.

So I may just go back to a rubber red and blue one for me and then when the boys have problems will replace them.

My kids would have camp beds if I let them as they prefer that to airbeds but again space is an issue.

My rubber ones came from Argos and I must admit they have been my best airbed to date.
