I am shortly to change to the vehicle of my dreams for camping. Husband at last is allowing me the purchase of a range rover. Now this lenant me towards the idea of having a new trailer. But, not knowing alot about them I have a few questions.
Firstly, having a grandad right driving licence I know i don't need to sit a test for it and have had plenty of practice round the farm with my vectra and have taken a erde 102 camping ande found it too small for all our stuff, even tho' it does fit all in the boot of the vectra!! So I know i need a bigger trailer.
Secondly what difference will I notice, if any with a trailer with 2 axles, my son has been telling me that if anything it will make reversing and manouvering alot better.
Could any veteran of towing please advise me.
And please keep the jokes about ladies towing to a minimum my husband cannot reverse it to save his life LOL

i tow an erde 122 with a discovery. forget it's there sometimes.
i say a 122 but it has been self modified with bespoke metal side extensions to make it 24 cuft (4x3x2). we find this ample.
if i was abit more wise in the beginning, i would have opted for the 142, and possibly altered it as and when.
certainly no need for multi axle.
have a look on ebay, there are always plenty on there.

alot of people rave about the side extensions, me also.
the trick is to get the trailer of your choice, use it, and if the need arises then modify.
i looked at a number of options with mine, abs lid, extended frame and cover but all in my opinion espensive for what you got. (£70 +)
i made crude drawings and measurements and took them down to my local metal benders. after explaining my needs they made what i wanted.
bolted to the trailer with reinforced corner and side braces i increased my load carrying capacity by 75% for less than half the price of the chepest option.i even added a small metal toolbox to the front to carry ratchet straps etc.
i now have a very usable trailer with strong, long lasting sides.
