Hi, everyone, a new member here. I have been camping a couple of times now and i need your HELP, can someone tell me the best way to stop my airbeds from getting damp. Do all airbeds do this, are is it we got a cheep one from Halford that is why we get this problem.
If you use the search facility you will find quite a few threads on this subject.
I personally put a picnic blanket under my airbed, put my double airbed in a kingsize duvet cover and also have a fitted sheet on it. People vary the method, but the results are the same. You need to insulate your airbed from the cold groundsheet, and also insulate yourself from the cold airbed.

Yup, all airbeds get damp. It's caused by the sweat from your hot body condensing out agains what is basically a lump of very cold air.
You just need to add some insulation. I use a fleece blanket on top of the airbed held in place with a fitted sheet. Other folk also add some sort of insulation (picnic rug or similar) between the airbed and the floor to stop the cold from the ground striking up, but I've always found the top layer is enough.
Thanks i will give this a go. We do stay in are sleeping bag, but i do like to keep my arms out and put them under my head, and the childran are the same. THANKS AGEN luv Tracey
Has a friend lent us there tent and we loved the camping nights out. We have got the airbeds that get damp, but i hope to put that right now with your help. I am thinking of getting the vango pillows. Do they get damp are or thay ok 2 use. My pillows or to big to get them and all the things in the car. A family of 4 and one big vango breckanrige tent, that we have just got. We are going out over the weekend to make sure its ok, and to have a go to get the tent up for next summer hols.
We sleep on top of a duvet with another duvet over us and are wonderfully warm, but when we next get the airbeds out after having them packed they tend to be quite mildewy on top, they don't seem to dry out very quickly.
We use the foam type material used under laminate flooring below our air mattress and a mattress topper on top. We have tried many different things but over the last couple of years the laminate underlay has worked out the best and warmest.its even warm to touch..its cheap and very effective.

I have always put a survival blanket, sometimes called a space blanket under the air bed and then as other shave said a fleece blanket on top and then a sheet. Always worked well – but this time I varied it a little for a try out and I put the survival blanket on top of the air mattress, then the fleece and then a sheet to hold it all together. A bit crinkly but much warmer and there was an even better insulation between us and the cold air in the mattress. And no damp condensation either.
