Can anyone recommend a good Dish - we have tried in two different campsites

but can't get our TV to work - not picking up anything apparently- so definately need

to buy something that will actually work.

Many thanks

Yvonne

AH freeview and satellite are completely different ,freeview is via your arial ,this is very dependant on area .
we use a cheap argos arial that comes apart and clamp it to a pole and point it around to you get a good picture on normal telly then plug in the freeview box and do a scan.
if your camping in areas with a bad freeview signal you will get very little on your tv.

Freesat is via satellite and your dish has to be perfectly pointed at astra 28.2 east (from south) to get a signal ,you can use your home sky box for this but its not the greatest bit of kit.

Maplins suitcase sat.  It's awful to line up unless you use an electronic sat finder but they do work.  It is only a small dish so there may be problems with far north or abroad where you need a larger dish.  Have used ours as far up as Newcastle on Tyne and was fine.

You can buy a satellite finder from Lidl at £3.99. I use it every time and can usually set the system up within a few minutes.

I use the Satellite in a suitcase from Maplins and normally take a spare Sky box and my Sky card from home.

A good place to look for tips is http://www.satelliteforcaravans.co.uk/
