hi all,

we are going camping at the weekend and have bought a gas heater to try and keep warm, however now we have it, it says for outdoor use, does this mean we cannot use it in the tent.

the link to it is http://www.camping-online.co.uk/SUNNGAS-AND--HI_GEAR-STOVES,-LANTERNS-AND-HEATERS/PYRAMID-PORTABLE-GAS-HEATER-WITH-4-GAS-CARTRIDGES.html

any advice would be apreciated as i cannot see the point in using it outside.

Yes of course you can use them in a tent, no point having them otherwise. We have two which we use in the awning on chillier nights. Just make sure they can't get knocked over, although they might have a safety cut-out on them, ours have. The only thing we have found though is that the cylinders don't seem to last very long, especially if you have it on high, so you might need to get a good supply of cylinders in

It says ideal for 'camping and outdoor use', not outdoor use only. Although I haven't got one, I reckon this is ok to use inside a tent... Use their 'contact us' link and ask the firm you bought it from.

It's exactly like my little camping cooker (which I take as a back up) and I use that in my campervan. I've used it in the house when we've had powercuts too.

Lets face it, in a tent you have an enormous amount of fresh air anyway, you only have to boil a kettle and the tent is warm, so I think this is ideal for your purpose!

Someone else will be along soon who knows more!

hi all

the reason they say out door use only is quite simple its a saftey warning instructed by the ec so people dont use in a closed confined space ie in a lorry cab a caravan with all windows shut  ect that kind of enviroment in a tent is fine because tents are breathable and have  large areas but always have a bit of ventilation.

all gas products burn and give of carbon monocide this applies to all gas burning products ie stoves heaters ect also never leave unattended or have on while asleep during the night best ways to use them is first thing in morning or late evening to take the chill off these heaters are very safe to use

we have sold 1000s with no problems

hope this helps kevin

If you have a canvas tent, no worries, as canvas breathes. However if you have a synthetic tent you will need to make sure that the vents are open slightly to allow the carbon monoxide to escape. Believe me, even with the vents open you will still feel a great benefit from the heater. Use it & enjoy a longer camping season
