Does anyone have a solar panel trickle charger from maplins, currently priced at £9.99, are they any good?

We have never used our caravan without the electric hookup, but need to next year when we go to truckfest, it is only 3 days but worrying about keeping battery charged.

yeah we have one. we use it to trickle charge our power pack will ask OH when he gets home

They are just "trickle" chargers. OK for keeping the battery topped up when in storage etc but nowhere near powerful enough to replace the daily use.

I thought they looked a bit small.

Any idea how long a battery will last for, we will be using it for lights, toilet (flushing which i assume is 12v) and to heat/pump water. We can use gas for the fridge, heating (if necessary) and kettle.

Hi, You should be able to use gas for most things, Heating, Cooking and fridge. The 12v lights water pump and toilet should be the only things to run off the battery and under normal usage a 85 amp should last the three days. A kettle or other heating appliance wont run off 12v (you can buy some but dont bother). If you have your car parked nearby you could always hook up if you have the 12s and boost your battery from the car.

At that price I can't see them putting much power into the battery. We have a solar panel but it cost £250 3 years ago.

yeah they are trickle chargers i have one, keep my car jump starter pack battery topped up. to charge a normall battery i reckon would take about 3 months lol

Waste of space. I bought one a while ago, but they don't even supply enough to keep the battery topped up. Go for the 13 watt solar suitcase at an absolute minimum. I got one for £60 from Maplin. It was great in the summer, but I don't expect I'll even bother trying it in this weather.
